In celebration of our volunteers

As part of the ‘Our World Challenge Award’ 19 8-10 year old cubs from the 1st Haverhill Beavers, Cubs and Scouts arrived at our warehouse on a Saturday morning in May to help out at the Foodbank!  The buzz, the noise, the excitement was just what we had in mind when we moved into our new warehouse in January.  And it wasn’t just us that really enjoyed it, Cub Scout Arkala Ricky Green said “They were talking about it for the rest of the afternoon, they thoroughly enjoyed it.”  He also went on to say “It enables our cubs to get a proper look on life which is what we try and install into them as they move on into scouts and grow as young people.”  We really hope to see them soon – or any other group who wish to volunteer.

Urgent help required: And, if you’re available to help on 8th June, we need people to assist us in our temporary move out of our Resource Centre while we refurbish (details here). We also need help moving back in again on 22nd June if you can spare an hour?

We're currently celebrating Volunteers Week – 1st to 7th June.  We have a fantastic team of around 120 volunteers who really make a difference in lifting people out of poverty.  Have a look on our social media sites to hear from some of our ‘Superheroes’ why they volunteer.

If you’re not already one of our volunteer superheroes, could you volunteer? There are all sorts of ways to help with your time – not just packing food boxes, but also at the Resource Centre Email us on info@reachhaverhill.org.uk or phone 01440 712950.
