Want to help support local families in need?

Reach has a fabulous team of volunteers who offer their time and skills to support local families in need.  Without the valuable contribution of volunteers not a lot would happen!
 

Volunteering generally takes place between our office hours of 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.  Our current volunteer roles:
- Foodbank Volunteers
Managing donated stock and packing emergency food boxes at our warehouse.

Tasks and responsibilities:
  • Involves lifting of stock and stacking tinned foods
  • Collection of donations from organisations (must be 25 and over and have clean driving licence to drive the van)
  • Sorting and stock rotation of warehouse

Commitment:
Can be a couple of hours in the morning
 

- Client Support Volunteers

Assist with issuing food and providing support to people in need at our Resource Centre in Haverhill.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Issuing food boxes to clients
  • Providing a listening ear and emotional support
  • Gathering basic client information


Commitment:
At least 1 or 2 sessions a week for 3 hours, between Monday - Friday from 2 - 5pm.
 

- Local Organiser

Volunteering in our Community Organising team on a new project in partnership with the Trussell Trust. Assisting with identifying key reasons for foodbank use, understanding financial hardship and inequality in Haverhill. We will create various strategies and campaigns to support people and work towards beneficial change.  

We have various roles available so please pop us an email about how you would like to be involved. 

Commitment: 
2-4 hours per week.
